Geary Otis: Charged with murder and agg. assault in June 2013
ATLANTA -- The family of a woman who was stabbed to death at a southwest Atlanta nursing home is now suing the facility.
Jan Jacobs, the daughter of 75-year-old Mary Oliver, will announce a lawsuit against Baptist Towers Apartments Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Oliver is one of two Baptist Towers residents stabbed by a third resident on June 18. The suspect, Geary Otis, is being held without bond in the Fulton County Jail on murder and aggravated assault charges.
Attorney Christopher Chestnut, who is representing Oliver's family, said the facility lacked appropriate security and was not equipped to handle the situation.
