ATLANTA -- A large tree fell and landed on power lines in southwest Atlanta overnight.
The tree fell at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Verbena Street and Fairfield Place.
Georgia Power crews said the tree's weight is pulling on the wires between two utility poles. No power outages were reported.
The tree fell near a light industrial area. Georgia Power said the homes just north of the scene are not affected.
Verbena Street is closed between Fairfield Place and Dahlia Avenue as crews work to remove the tree.
