CHP spokesman Saul Gomez says the bus was from Da Zhen out of Monterry Park, Calif., and carried 40 passengers. None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening. Most of the victims were treated for bumps and bruises.
A KTTV-TV helicopter is showing the bus on its side alongside the freeway. Numerous firefighters and ambulances are on the scene and apparent victims are being examined in a triage operation.
Two emergency helicopters landed in lanes.
Traffic was backed up for miles, with some people getting out of their cars and hopping over the center divider into the empty lanes of traffic to get a better look.
