Hunter Calvert arrived at Falcons camp in style.
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - - Hunter Calvert loves the Falcons so much and gets so excited when they play that his family doesn't tell him if the team is involved in a night game. Sleep is precious for a 13 year old with encephalomalacia.
That condition causes softening of the brain tissue and one of the side effects is night seizures. Everyone around him knew he'd be restless this week, but they were OK with that because Hunter was going to meet his beloved birds from Flowery Branch.
The Make A Wish foundation teamed up with the Falcons to give Ryan a big day at training camp. He arrived in a limo, toured the facility, and then came the best part.
Matt Ryan, Tony Gonzalez, Sean Weatherspoon were all around him as coach Mike Smith introduced him and the team cheered. His mom, dad, grandmother, and brother looked on and were as excited as Hunter.
"Awesome, amazing" were the words he used to describe the team and his day. One could also use those words in describing his resiliency and courage.
