MARIETTA, Ga. -- The armed gunman who chose Labor Day to go on a crime spree is now behind bars.
Kon Sarin was taken into custody at a Barnes Mill Road apartment complex after police linked him to forensic evidence found at one of the crime scenes.

Marietta Police Officer David Baldwin said Sarin is being held without
bond in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. He has been charged with
armed robbery and firearm possession; more charges are pending.
Investigators said Sarin's crimes started at about 4:30 a.m. Monday at the Canton Package Store on Canton Road in Marietta, when a suspect spent about an hour trying to get into the closed business. Surveillance video from the business showed the suspect trying to get in through a drive-thru window and then through the front door.
He didn't get into the business and apparently decided to move on, intent on committing a crime. Savvy Arora, who works at the package store, would later learn that the same man robbed two gas stations at gunpoint.
"I feel bad for them, I feel so lucky I wasn't here," Arora said.
The suspect's next stop was at a Chevron gas station on Canton Road at Chastain Road in Cobb County. Just before 8 a.m., Cobb County police say the man walked into the convenience store and robbed the clerk at gunpoint.
Just two hours later, he walked into another Chevron station in Marietta on Powers Ferry Road and this time gave surveillance cameras a good picture of his face. Police said the suspect spent about 20 minutes in the store before pulling a gun on the clerk who turned over the money from the cash register.
The Cobb County Police Department helped Marietta investigators track down and arrest Sarin.
