ATLANTA -- Atlanta Public Schools security officers found a BB gun inside a student's backpack at Boyd Elementary School on Thursday.
Spokeswoman for APS, Kimberly Willis Green said officers took the gun from the 5th grader and kept it in their possession.
All students and faculty of the school are safe, and there was no disruption caused by the BB gun. School operations continued as normal Thursday afternoon, Green said.
She released no information of what punishment the student may face.
