ATLANTA, Ga. -- 11Alive News followed C.J. Hilliard Jr. to New York City for his shot at $1 million on "The Million Second Quiz" but unfortunately he was unable to move on to the final round.

An IT manager by trade, Hilliard was selected to be a "Line Jumper" by reaching a high score on "The Million Second Quiz" app on his cell phone.

Recently, Hilliard lost his job and his home after being laid off. He grew up as an Air Force brat and he followed in his father's footsteps by enrolling in the Air Force after high school; he had planned to use his winnings to enroll in college.
Hilliard made it to the hot seat portion of the show but lost by 19 points. He will soon return to Atlanta.
