Tabitha Paige as she appeared in court on Mon., Sept. 23, 2013
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -- A Villa Rica teen is in serious trouble after fleeing the scene of a deadly accident.
Tabitha Paige admitted to hitting a man with her car a week ago, then driving away.
It happened outside the Douglasville Police Department, where Gary Latimer was crossing the street. He was hit and died.

Paige was arrested over the weekend, after an anonymous tipster contacted authorities.
11Alive's Paul Crawley says that after she hit Latimer, Paige said she was frightened by all of the police, and left the scene. Police said Paige's brothers took the car to an abandoned facility in Alabama to repair the car.
At an appearance before a magistrate judge Paige made an emotional plea for freedom. She said that her mother is ill with cancer, and that she is the only care-giver for her mother.
Due to the fact that she had fled the scene of the incident, bond was denied for Paige. She remains in custody in Douglas County on charges of felony hit and run. She may face additional charges.
The tipster is eligible for a $5,000 reward in the case, but says the reward money should be given to Latimer's family.
