Motorists in Fairburn - especially along Ga. 92 at mile marker 5 - are advised to be aware of heavier traffic tied to the TomorrowWorld music festival taking place there over the entire weekend.
In addition, many events will be taking place in Metro Atlanta over the weekend, including home games for the Braves and Falcons.
Some of the highways affected this weekend:
I-20 eastbound from mile marker 26 (Liberty Road) in Douglas County, going eastward through Douglas, Cobb, Fulton, DeKalb, Rockdale and Newton counties to mile marker 93 (Ga. 142) will have a rolling closure in the left lane for cleaning the draining system along the roadway. Other rolling closures for drainage system cleaning will be found along I-285 northbound from Old National Highway to Washington Road and on Ga. 166 (Langford Parkway) in both directions between I-285 and I-75/85.
The Downtown Connector (I-75/85) will see intermittent lane closures for bridge painting between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Pine Street.
I-20 westbound will have intermittent lane closures between Lee Road and Fairburn Road in Douglas County for guard rail repair.
All closures - with the exception of the construction surrounding the Ga. 400/I-85 interchange project - are set to run between 9 pm Friday and 5 am Monday.
