(WXIA) -- Michael Jackson's doctor has been released from jail.
Dr. Conrad Murray was freed at around 3 a.m. Monday after serving two years behind bars.
He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in November 2011 for administering a fatal dose of propofol to the King of Pop. He also lost his licenses to practice medicine in California, Nevada and Texas.
Murray was sentenced to four years in jail. CNN reported Monday that his conviction translated to just two years because of California prison rules that give an additional day of credit for each day served. The rule was created due to overcrowding in the state's prison system. That overcrowding also allowed Murray to serve his sentence in a local jail instead of a state prison.
