The holiday shopping season is a bit shorter this year because the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is six days shorter than in 2012.
Walmart has already lowered prices on some items that wouldn't normally go on sale until Black Friday. They include a 32 inch television for $198 and an RCA tablet for $69. Some of the TV and tablet deals that started Friday sold out quickly but were were replaced by other items.
If you are shopping for baby and kids' clothes head to Gymboree.com for 30 percent off everything in the store through November 3rd. If you sign up for their email list you may also get a coupon for an additional 20 percent off.
Now that Halloween is over, check out the clearance sales on candy, costumes and halloween decorations.
Target normally discounts halloween candy by 30 percent the day after Halloween and decorations by 50 percent. After a few days, discounts reach 70 percent and finally 90 percent off. You can freeze many types of candy and stock up on decorations for next year.
