According to information presented in court, Anna Benson admitted to showing up uninvited at Kris Benson's Smyrna home on July 7. While there, she demanded money from her estranged husband, swung a metal baton at him and pointed a revolver in his direction.
She had been held without bond in the Cobb County Jail since her arrest.
A Cobb County judge sentenced Anna Benson to 15 years on probation. She was also ordered to complete inpatient psychiatric treatment and follow-up care.
Cobb County Chief Assistant District Attorney Don Geary told the court that Kris Benson "has never expressed anger, hatred or ill will toward the defendant, and is only concerned for his family's safety."
