Consumers have dozens of options when it comes to selecting cell phone service but those options narrow significantly once you are under contract, so choose wisely!
The quality of service can depend partly on where you live.
Research firm J.D Power and Associates surveys consumers every year to gauge their satisfaction. For Atlanta in 2013 it found Verizon Wireless customers were the most satisfied with the quality and performance of their phone service, followed by AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.
Consumer Reports rankings were similar with Verizon in first place followed by Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T.
The consumer advocacy group Root Metrics ranked AT&T number one overall followed by Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint.
Among prepaid, no-contract carriers Metro PCS ranked highest in customers satisfaction.
