NORCROSS, Ga. -- Nobody was injured when a train collided with a truck and trailer in Norcross Tuesday morning.
The accident happened at around 11:20 a.m. at the train tracks on Holcomb Bridge Road at Thrasher Street.
Norcross Police Capt. Brian Harr said the truck got stuck on the track and couldn't move. Police tried to warn railroad authorities, but one train was unable to slow down in time and hit the truck.
Harr said several Norcross railroad crossings are closed until further notice, including Holcomb Bridge Road at Thrasher Street, Park Street at Thrasher Street, and Autry Street at Thrasher Street.
Police did not immediately know when the crossings will reopen. In the meantime, drivers are encouraged to take Langford Parkway or Jimmy Carter Boulevard as alternate routes.
