ATLANTA -- In less than two hours, more than 100 passengers and airport employees lined up for flu shots at the first of seven AeroClinic kiosks set up on Hartsfield-Jackson Concourses A, B, and C.
By nightfall, that number swelled to more than 400 -- with kiosks still being added. At $35 a hit, it's not the cost but the convenience that's driving business.
"It takes 3 minutes to get your vaccine. There is some paperwork to fill out and you are one your way within five minutes," said Rosemary Kelly of AeroClinic, a private medical facility at the airport.
People in the biggest hurry arriving at Hartsfield Jackson and getting those shots -- airline crews and business travelers.
Diana Courtney is on a business trip and has never had a flu shot.
"I was actually very excited to see it. I needed a flu shot. I was going to call my doctor and walked by and saw the kiosk, and stopped in," Courtney said. "This is the first time I've ever felt the need to have a flu shot. So when the Swine Flu shot comes in 3 to 4 weeks, I'll line up for that as well."
For Brelan Harling, an airport airline employee and for flight attendants, getting shot could not be easier.
"Very convenient," said Harling. "It being right here when you walk by in the airport."
By early October, AeroClinic says it plans to add swine flu shots.
"I will for sure be back for swine flu. I am kind of nervous about it, so I will be back in line," said airport employee Faith Nasmyth.
With 250,000 people passing through Hartsfield-Jackson every day, many others will be standing line as well.
