An Early 'Luda-Christmas' for Clarkdale Elem. Students

AUSTELL, Ga. -- It was an extraordinary surprise for the students at once-flooded Clarkdale Elementary School.

At an assembly designed to give winter coats to the students -- many of whose families lost so much in the September floods -- the kids received a surprise visit from a local celebrity: Ludacris.

The rapper/actor stopped by with 500 coats bought and donated by the LudaCares Foundation; he made visits to Austell Intermediate and Compton Elementary, both of which are now housing the students from Clarkdale.

"We're here in Cobb County giving coats for children," said the man named Chris Bridges, "giving 'em an early Thanksgiving and an early Christmas -- or a Luda-Christmas, I should say."

Since the flooding, Clarkdale has received a remarkable amount of generosity and gifts from all over the United States. If you'd like to help, go to http://cobbschoolsfoundation.org to see how to donate.
