ATLANTA -- Two Democratic members of Georgia's Congressional delegation voted against a major healthcare reform bill late Saturday.

Rep. John Barrow (D-Savannah) and Rep. Jim Marshall (D-Macon) joined 37 other Democrats in the House in splitting with their party and voting "no."

Georgia's four other Democrats supported the bill: Rep. John Lewis (D-Atlanta), Rep. David Scott (D-Atlanta), Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Decatur) and Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-Albany).

"This bill is not only morally right, but an imperative for working-class families," Rep. Johnson said.

All seven of the Republican Congressmen from Georgia voted against the bill: Rep. Tom Price (R-Roswell), Rep. John Linder (R-Lawrenceville), Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Grantville), Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Marietta), Rep. Nathan Deal (R-Gainesville), Rep. Paul Broun (R-Athens) and Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Savannah).

"If the kitchen sink is leaking, you fix the sink and don't take a wrecking ball to the entire kitchen," Rep. Kingston said on the House floor. "This bill is a wrecking ball to the entire economy."
