WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. (13WMAZ) -- A Washington County, Georgia girl is in surgery today after allegedly being attacked by three other girls in school Monday, 13WMAZ.com reported Friday.
Her mother says Jessica Kirkland already had a floating lesion on her brain that became worse as a result of the fight.
When doctors examined her at the Washington County Regional Medical Center, they found that the lesion had been loosened as a result of the fight at Washington County High School, said Tracy Kirkland, the girl's mother. They sent her to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, she said.
She said Jessica, a 16-year-old 10th grader, will need several hours of surgery Friday.
