ATLANTA (AP) -- Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker had his gallbladder removed and is recovering at St. Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta.
Baker went to his doctor on Monday because he was having stomach pain. He had the gallbladder removed on Tuesday through a minimally-invasive laparoscopic procedure.
His spokesman Jeff DiSantis said he expected to return to his
normal schedule after the Thanksgiving holiday.
Baker is seeking the Democratic nomination for governor. If
elected, he would be the state's first black governor. The
56-year-old lawyer is serving his third four-year term as attorney general.
