ATLANTA, Ga. -- Not long ago, a Decatur Pastor, Patricia Simpson, and members of her small church, the Prayer, Faith and Worship Outreach Ministry, spotted what, for many across Metro Atlanta, is a familiar sight no one cares to see -- people living underneath bridges. In this case, they saw people living underneath the I-20 bridge that crosses Atlanta's Whitehall Street, near the West End.
Pastor Simpson and the others decided to do what they can, knowing they can't solve homelessness or poverty or hunger or even get jobs for everyone able and willing to work.
As the video shows, they're making a small start, reaching out to -- as she describes the "Underbridge Atlanta" residents -- God's children. Even those who many others would point out are responsible for their own bad choices in life. The church members include all who want to receive their simple gift.
