ATLANTA (AP) -- A judge granted a delay for the first appearance hearing of a major military food supplier charged with inflating prices and defrauding the U.S. government.
The hearing was scheduled for Friday but U.S. Magistrate Judge Janet King rescheduled the hearing for Dec. 1 after Kuwaiti logistics firm Public Warehousing Co. asked for more time. Prosecutors urged the hearing to be delayed only a day or two.
The company, also known as Agility, is the military's prime food supplier in Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan. It is charged with making false statements, submitting false claims and committing wire
fraud. The company said the allegations are "without merit."
