Reno, NV (Sports Network) - Alexandre Rocha amassed 16 points in the Modified
Stableford scoring system Friday to take the lead at the midway point of the
Reno-Tahoe Open.
The Modified Stableford scoring system awards eight points for double eagles,
five for eagles, two for birdies, zero for pars and subtracts one point for
bogeys and three points for double-bogey or worse.
Rocha finished 36 holes at Montreux Golf and Country Club with 24 points and
is two clear of J.J. Henry, who totaled 12 points on Friday, and John
Mallinger, who tallied 11 points.
Rocha recorded an eagle, seven birdies and three bogeys on Friday.
First-round lead Andres Romero picked up seven points in round two and is tied
for fourth place with Arjun Atwal, who collected 14 points. The pair has 21
points.
