CENTENNIAL, Colo. (WXIA) -- Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno was arrested for a suspected DUI in Denver last week, according to KUSA, a Denver NBC affiliate.

Moreno was stopped on Feb. 1 on Interstate 25 near the Hampden Avenue exit. Investigators say he was going 70 mph in a 45 mph construction zone around 1:30 a.m.

He was driving a Bentley convertible with the license plate: SAUCED.

Lt. Matthew Murray says Moreno voluntarily submitted to a blood test, but results weren't available yet Monday.

He says Moreno could face charges of DUI and careless driving.

At the start of last season, Moreno split time with running back with Willis McGahee. On Nov. 16, Moreno was put on the injured reserve after he tore his ACL in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Broncos released a statement about Moreno on Monday afternoon: "We take the incident involving Knowshon Moreno very seriously and are thoroughly reviewing this matter. Our organization will continue to gather information and closely monitor this issue while the legal process runs its course."
