Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox placed right-handed pitcher
Vicente Padilla on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with right arm
tightness.
The 34-year-old is 4-1 with a 4.62 earned run average in 39 innings pitched
this season.
To take Padilla's spot on the active roster, the Red Sox recalled right-handed
pitcher Clayton Mortensen from Triple-A Pawtucket. He is 1-0 with a 1.17 ERA
in 10 appearances for Boston this year.
