Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled pitcher
Jeff Locke from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.
In 21 starts at Indianapolis this season, Locke went 9-5 with a 2.66
earned run average and 113 strikeouts. The 24-year-old lefty made four starts
last season for the Pirates and went 0-3 with a 6.48 ERA.
To make room for Locke on the active roster, Pittsburgh optioned outfielder
Alex Presley to Indianapolis.
Presley appeared in 77 games for the Pirates this season, batting .234 with
eight homers and 16 RBI.
