Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres placed closer Huston
Street on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a left calf strain and
recalled pitcher Cory Burns from Triple-A Tucson.
Street, 29, has gone 2-0 with a 0.75 earned-run average and 21 saves this
season. The righty has not allowed a run over his last 22 appearances while
recording a 21 1/3-inning scoreless streak.
Over parts of eight major league seasons with Oakland (2005-08), Colorado
(2009-11) and San Diego, Street has gone 32-21 with 199 saves and a 2.93 ERA.
Burns, 24, has pitched to a 1-2 record with a 3.14 ERA and three saves in 54
relief appearances for Tucson this year.
