Class AAAAA quarterfinal victories by the No. 5 ranked Tucker Tigers and the No. 9 ranked Stephenson Jaguars would set up an All-DeKalb County semifinal with one team headed to the state championship game.

The Tigers (10-2) travel to Warner Robins to take on the No. 1 ranked Northside Eagles (12-0) in a rematch of Tucker's last minute 17-16 victory in the Class AAAA semifinals on their way to the 2011 Class AAAA state title.

Tucker has knocked of Creekview (42-25) and North Paulding (40-21) in the first and second rounds of the state playoffs.

Northside has convincing victories of 41-13 over Effingham County and 45-10 over Thomas County Central to keep their undefeated season intact heading into the playoff rematch with the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Tigers are making their third consecutive quarterfinal appearance and fourth in five seasons which include the 2008 and 2011 Class AAAA state titles. Tucker is 40-31 overall in the state playoffs and has won seven consecutive.

This marks the third time in the past seven seasons the two teams have met in the state playoffs with both having come-from-behind wins in the semifinals on the way to state titles.

The Jaguars (9-2) go on the road to Ware County (11-1) while making their first quarterfinal appearance since a run to the state semifinals in 2006.  Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.

Stephenson holds wins of 31-11 over Pope and 35-7 over No. 3 ranked East Paulding (11-1) to improve to 15-12 overall in state playoff action.

Ware County enters the contest following wins of 27-7 over Lakeside-Evans and 20-13 over Union Grove in the first two rounds of playoff action. This is the first playoff meeting for the two teams, but Stephenson won a pair of regular season games in 2010 and 2011.
