DULUTH, Ga. -- The Gwinnett Gladiators have acquired forward Justin Bowers and the rights to defenseman Sacha Guimond from the San Franscisco Bulls in exchange for Rylan Galiardi, Christian Ouellet and defenseman Cody Carlson.
Bowers has earned 29 points (eight goals, 21 assists) in 37 games this season with San Franscisco. His 21 assists currently leads the Bulls in that category.
The Halifax, Nova Scotia native split time in each of the past two seasons with Greenville and the American Hockey League. He was scoreless in two AHL games last year with Milwaukee and earned 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 26 AHL games with Portland in 2010-11.
Bowers had 79 points (19 goals, 59 assists) in 69 games to lead the Road Warriors in scoring last year. He earned 52 points (16 goals, 36 assists) in 44 games with Greenville in 2010-11.
Guimond is currently on recall to the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League. He was loaned to Worcester on January 11th and has appeared in two AHL games. Guimond has earned 25 points (seven goals, 18 assists) in 33 games this season with San Franscisco.
The Ville-Marie, Quebec native recorded 41 points (nine goals, 32 assists) in 65 games last season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Baie-Comeau Drakkar. Guimond also collected two points (one goal, one assist) in eight playoff games with Baie-Comeau.
Galiardi ranked fifth in scoring on Gwinnett with 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) in 39 games this year.
Carlson notched eight points (two goals, six assists) in 18 games for Gwinnett.
Ouellet recorded 12 points (eight goals, four assists) in 31 games with the Gladiators this season.
