Jupiter, FL (Sports Network) - Bryan Petersen hit a two-run triple in the
ninth inning to lead the Miami Marlins to a 6-5 win over Venezuela on Tuesday.
Juan Pierre drove in a pair of runs while Chris Coghlan went 4-for-4 with
three runs scored for the Marlins. Wade LeBlanc was touched for three runs --
two earned -- on seven hits in 2 2/3 innings.
Miguel Cabrera went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, four RBI and two runs
scored for Venezuela, which got two scoreless innings from starter Carlos
Zambrano as the team gets ready for the World Baseball Classic.
The team learned before the game that Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, who
had led the country for 14 years, passed away on Tuesday from cancer.
