Washington, DC (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers have reinstated outfielder Matt Kemp from the 15-day disabled list prior to Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals.

Kemp landed on the DL on July 8 with left AC joint inflammation. Earlier this year, the 28-year-old missed 24 games due to a right hamstring strain.

The two-time All-Star was hitting .254 with four homers and 24 RBI in 61 games before his most recent trip to the disabled list.

To make room on the roster for Kemp, the Dodgers optioned outfielder/first baseman Scott Van Slyke to Triple-A Albuquerque. He was hitting .241 with six home runs and 14 RBI in 33 games this season with the Dodgers.
