Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics activated pitcher Brett
Anderson from the 60-day disabled list Wednesday and optioned pitcher Tommy
Milone to Triple-A Sacramento.
Anderson went 1-4 with a 6.21 earned run average in six games (five starts)
this season before being placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 1 with a
sprained right ankle.
The left-hander was diagnosed with a stress fracture of his right foot on May
17 and was transferred to the 60-day DL on June 14.
Over three rehab starts with Double-A Midland, Sacramento and Single-A
Stockton, Anderson went a combined 0-2 with a 12.54 ERA.
Milone made the A's Opening Day roster and went 9-9 with a 4.39 ERA in 22
starts before being optioned to Sacramento on Aug. 3. He was recalled by
Oakland on Aug. 18 and went 1-0 with a 2.79 ERA in two starts, giving the
southpaw a 10-9 overall record and a 4.28 ERA in 24 starts this season.
