Braves offer new details on SunTrust parking

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Braves will play their first game in SunTrust Park against the New York Yankees in a spring training exhibition game, according to a source with knowledge of the schedule.

The game will mark the team's final spring training game of 2017. Atlanta will host one of the most storied franchises in baseball history and a team that always draws a large crowd.

The Braves formally announced the game Thursday afternoon, adding the game will be held March 31. The 2017 MLB season opens April 3.

The team said the game will only be available to its full and partial season ticket holders.

The Braves first regular season game at their 41,500-seat stadium is April 13 against the San Diego Padres, according to the Associated Press. The 2017 schedule has not been publicly announced.

The Braves are moving to the new stadium in Cobb County following the current season, the final season at Turner Field. The Braves have played at Turner Field since 1997. The stadium has been sold to Georgia State for $30 million.

The Braves final game in Atlanta and Turner Field is Oct. 2 against the Detroit Tigers.
