Colon is the oldest active major leaguer and the Braves now have the two oldest starters in baseball. Atlanta inked knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, 42, to a one-year deal on Thursday.
Colon debuted in the majors in 1997, the same year the Braves began play at Tuner Field. He's been a workhouse on the mound, logging and average of 195 innings per season over the past four years and a 3.59 ERA.
He went 15-8 with a 3.43 ERA in 2016 and was chosen for the All-Star Game. On May 7, he became the oldest player in baseball history to hit his first career homer at San Diego.
