"Uga VII, the legendary Georgia mascot who roamed the sidelines at Bulldog football games, died unexpectedly Thursday morning in Savannah," a statement posted on UGA.edu said Thursday evening.

Georgia second baseman Chance Veazey is paralyzed from the waist down and undergoing rehabilitation in Atlanta.

Freshman guard Jasmine James scored 25 points and Ashley Houts added 21 for No. 16 Georgia in a 74-57 win over Chattanooga on Thursday night.

Caleb King and Washaun Ealey are providing a late-season boost to a Georgia rushing attack that still ranks near the bottom of the Southeastern Conference.
