Spokane, WA (Sports Network) - Przernek Karnowski scored a team-high 22
points, as No. 21 Gonzaga easily dispatched Southern Utah, 103-65, in
the season opener for both teams.
Five others scored in double-figures for the Bulldogs (1-0), who lost to Ohio
State in the second round of the NCAA tournament last season. Guy Landry Edi
posted 16 points and seven rebounds, Sam Dower poured in 15, while David
Stockton and Elias Harris netted 12 points apiece.
Jackson Stevenett scored a game-high 29 points on 11-of-15 shooting and pulled
down six boards for the Thunderbirds (0-1), who begin their first season as a
member of the Big Sky Conference under new head coach Nick Robinson.
Collie Wade was the only other player in double-digits for Southern Utah. He
scored 10 points in the loss.
