MACON, Ga. -- Senior forward Aaron Anderson (Tucson, Ariz./Central Arizona College) earned his first career Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award, the A-Sun announced on Tuesday.
Anderson averaged a double-double in the opening two games of the season as he contributed 14.0 points and 11.5 rebounds a contest while shooting 70.6 percent from the field during road games at Tennessee and South Carolina State.
In a 76-67 season-opening loss to the Volunteers, Anderson produced game-high totals of 16 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 6-for-8 from the field and 4-for-7 from the foul line. He followed that effort with 12 points and 11 rebounds during a 67-65 overtime win at South Carolina State on Monday.
Anderson's 12 points against the Bulldogs moved him over the 500 career points plateau, increasing his career total to 506. He also moved into third place on Kennesaw State's all-time Division I era rebounding list with 496, surpassing Ronnell Wooten (2005-08), who concluded his career with 488.
Kennesaw State is next in action on Friday when it opens play at the Comfort Suites Invitational in Richmond, Ky. The Owls take on host Eastern Kentucky beginning at 7 p.m. (ET).
