Wichita, KS (Sports Network) - Carl Hall posted a double-double with 16 points
and 11 rebounds to lead the Wichita State Shockers over the Tulsa Golden
Hurricane, 86-60, in a non-conference matchup at Charles Koch Arena.
For the Shockers (7-0), Cleanthony Early added 13 points as all 11 players
that saw action scored for the hosts.
James Woodard led the Golden Hurricane (4-3) with 15 points.
Wichita State opened the contest hitting on 50 percent of its shots from the
floor and took a 38-27 advantage into halftime. Tulsa managed to shoot just
39.3 percent and missed all but one of its seven three-point attempts in the
period.
After the break the Shockers continued to connect from the floor, shooting
54.3 percent in the second half. The Golden Hurricane improved to 42.3 percent
shooting but was never able to cut significantly into the deficit. WSU pushed
the advantage to as many as 26 points in the second half as it remained
perfect on the season.
The Shockers converted 16 Golden Hurricane turnovers into 24 points. WSU also
outscored Tulsa in the paint, 40-24.
