Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Jarred DuBois scored 18 points as the
Utah Runnin' Utes posted a 76-55 win over the Boise State Broncos in non-
conference action at the Huntsman Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Runnin' Utes (6-2) were Jason Washburn
and Jordan Loveridge with 13 and 11 points, respectively, as the squad won for
the second time in as many games.
The Broncos (6-2) were paced by Derrick Marks with 18 points, followed by
Mikey Thompson with 16 points on a mere 5-of-15 shooting from the floor off
the bench as the team had a three-game win streak snapped.
Utah shot a staggering 15-of-20 from the floor in the first half, including 5-
of-8 beyond the arc, as the hosts moved out to a 41-25 lead at the break.
In the second half the Utes again had the hot hand with 60 percent accuracy
from the field in order to wrap up the 21-point win rather easily.
Utah turned the ball over 17 times and captured just three offensive rebounds,
but still won the battle of the boards by a 31-18 margin.
The Utes also used this outing to honor former head coach Rick Majerus who
passed away over the weekend. Majerus, who most recently coached the Saint
Louis Billikens before taking leave due to a heart condition, led the Utes
from 1989-2004, taking them to the NCAA championship game in 1998.
