Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Damion Lee scored a game-high 26 points
and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Drexel Dragons to a 69-58 victory over the
Davidson Wildcats in a non-conference tilt at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
Frantz Massenat added 14 points and six assists for the Dragons (4-7), which
has won two of three.
For the Wildcats (6-5), Jake Belford scored 16 points, while Nik Cochran and
Jake Cohen each finished with 10 points.
Drexel shot 45.2 percent from the field in the first half, which was less than
Davidson's 50 percent, but the Dragons outrebounded the Wildcats by a
commanding 22-6 margin in the opening 20 minutes. Drexel used the extra
possessions to take a 34-28 lead at the break.
After halftime, Drexel shot the ball very well, connecting on 54.2 percent
from the field. Davidson struggled in the second half, making only 39.1
percent of its field goal attempts, including just 3-of-11 from beyond the 3-
point arc. The closest the Wildcats could get was within four points with just
over three minutes to play, but the Dragons pushed their advantage back to
double figures in the final minutes.
The Dragons finished with a dominating 40-14 advantage on the glass. Drexel
also outscored Davidson in the paint, 26-18.
