Akron, OH (Sports Network) - Nick Harney paced five teammates in double
figures with 19 points as the Akron Zips made easy work of the Cleveland State
Vikings, 87-57, in non-conference action at Rhodes Arena.
Zeke Marshall added 18 points for the Zips (6-4), who have won back-to-back
games. Demetrius Treadwell tallied 15 points and eight rebounds, while Alex
Abreu and Jake Kretzer netted 11 points apiece for the home team.
For Cleveland State (7-5), Junior Lomomba had 19 points and Bryn Forbes scored
13 from off the bench.
The Zips shot 51.6 percent from the field in the first half, including 4-of-10
from 3-point range, to get out to a 42-25 halftime lead.
Akron improved its shooting percentage to .548 after the break as its lead was
never in doubt.
Cleveland State made good on just 18-of-52 from the field on the afternoon
(.346), including 5-of-20 from beyond the arc.
