Chestnut Hill, MA (Sports Network) - Joe Rahon scored a game-high 24 points,
leading all five starters in double figures, as the Boston College Eagles
posted a 79-58 win over the Dartmouth Big Green in non-conference action at
the Conte Forum.
Olivier Hanlan added 15 points and seven rebounds, followed by Ryan Anderson
and Lonnie Jackson with 12 points apiece, while Patrick Heckmann accounted for
10 points for the Eagles (8-5) as they won their fifth straight outing.
Dartmouth (2-9) was paced by Connor Boehm with 16 points and eight rebounds,
Gabas Maldunas chipped in 12 points and six boards off the bench, while Alex
Mitola tacked on 11 points as he made good on 3-of-4 shots behind the 3-point
line for the Big Green as they bowed for the sixth time in as many games.
Both teams shot the ball well from the floor in the first half, but in
addition to making good on 51.9 percent from the field in the period, Boston
College also converted 9-of-10 at the free-throw line in order to establish a
41-33 lead at the break.
In the second half the Eagles defense went to work, limiting the visitors to a
mere 27.6 percent accuracy from the floor, including 2-of-9 beyond the arc, en
route to the 21-point win.
Dartmouth, which led by as many as six points early in the first half, shot
only 37.0 percent from the floor for the game.
