Mount Pleasant, MI (Sports Network) - Abdel Nader scored 23 points for the
Northern Illinois Huskies who took a 74-61 Mid-American Conference win over
the Central Michigan Chippewas at the McGuirck Arena.
Nader was 8-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from 3-point range for the Huskies
(4-13, 2-3 MAC), who ended a three-game losing streak. Travon Baker scored 10
points while Aksel Bolin added 13 off the bench.
Kyle Randall led the Chippewas (9-9, 2-3) in scoring with 12 points while
recording seven turnovers as Central Michigan took its third loss in four
games. Finis Craddock added 11 points and was the only other Chippewa to score
in double figures.
NIU led 32-31 at the break after both teams shot below 40 percent from the
field in the first half.
The Huskies shot 60 percent from the floor in the second half while holding
Central Michigan to just 29.2 percent shooting to pull away for the win.
Northern Illinois shot 48.8 percent from the field throughout the game while
Central Michigan shot 32.7 percent.
