Richmond, VA (Sports Network) - Dwayne Evans recorded a double-double with 11
points and 11 rebounds for the Saint Louis Billikens who defeated the Richmond
Spiders, 56-46, in an Atlantic 10 Conference showdown at the Robins Center.
Evans was just 3-of-11 from the field and the only Billiken (18-5, 8-2 A-10)
to score in double-figures in the win. Kwamain Mitchell, Jordair Jett, and
Cody Ellis added nine points each as Saint Louis took its sixth consecutive
win.
Cedrick Lindsay was the only player for Richmond (14-10, 4-5) to score in
double-digits but did so posting 20 points and earning 11 points at the free-
throw line. The Spiders shot just 23.3 percent from the field as they took
their third loss in the last four games.
It was Saint Louis on top at halftime, 23-19, after Richmond shot just 5-of-24
from the field in the first half.
In the second half the Spiders shot a bit better but not much, going 5-of-19
and 1-of-8 from 3-point range as they were outscored 33-27.
Although the Billikens had 20 turnovers, Richmond was only able to turn them
into 10 points while Saint Louis turned the Spiders' 14 turnovers into 17
points. The Billikens also dominated on the boards and earned a 42-28
rebounding edge.
