Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Kadeem Batts dropped in 24 points as the
Providence Friars rallied for a 76-66 victory over the South Florida Bulls
during a Big East Conference tilt at the USF Sun Dome.
LaDonate Henton added 19 points and eight rebounds. Big East leading scorer
Bryce Cotton tacked on 13 points and six assists and Vincent Council tallied
11 points and eight helpers for Providence (13-11, 5-7 Big East) which has won
three straight.
Victor Rudd (26 points, 12 rebounds) and Anthony Collins (12 points, 10
assists) each recorded double-doubles and Toarlyn Fitzpatrick chipped in 14
points for South Florida (10-14, 1-11) which has lost seven straight and 11 of
its last 12.
At halftime, South Florida led 36-25 by shooting 55.2 percent from the field
while holding Providence to just 37.5 percent shooting.
The tables turned in the second half as the Friars stormed back by hitting 64
percent from the field while the Bulls cooled to 31 percent shooting.
Providence outscored South Florida 21-9 from the free-throw line and 13-6 in
points off turnovers.
