Birmingham, AL (Sports Network) - Clide Geffrard Jr. scored a game-high 17
points as the Samford Bulldogs captured a 40-33 win over the Wofford Terriers
in a Southern Conference tilt at the Pete Hanna Center.
Raijon Kelly finished with eight points, five assists and four steals for the
Bulldogs (9-17, 7-6 SoCon) but he shot just 3-of-11 from the floor as the team
won for the second time in the last three outings.
The lone double-digit scorer for the Terriers (10-17, 4-10) was Lee Skinner
who tallied 10 points and also paced the visitors with seven rebounds as they
bowed for the second time in as many games.
Neither side shot the ball well on the night, with Wofford hitting just 6-
of-23 from the floor in the first half, including 1-of-9 beyond the arc, en
route to a 17-16 deficit at the break. The Bulldogs were only slightly better
from the field (7-of-22).
Samford opened the second half on a 6-0 run, eventually leading by as many as
10 points with just under six minutes remaining, in order to grab the tough
win.
Both squad finished with more turnovers than field goals on the night.
