Irvine, CA (Sports Network) - Adam Folker tallied a double-double with 13
points and 13 rebounds as the UC Irvine Anteaters brought down the Pacific
Tigers, 68-59, in a Big West Conference bout at the Bren Events Center.
Daman Starring scored 16 points for UCI (15-13, 9-6 Big West), which closed
out its homestand a perfect 3-0. Will Davis II logged 13 points and eight
rebounds, while Michael Wilder finished with 12 points.
For Pacific (15-11, 9-5), Tony Gill came off the bench to lead all scorers
with 17 points. Lorenzo McCloud chipped in 11 points for the Tigers, who had
won back-to-back games coming into this matchup.
UCI shot just 39.3 percent from the field in the first half, but Pacific was
even worse at 29.6 percent shooting, as the Anteaters carried a 30-26 lead
into the break.
The Tigers came back to tie the game at 38-38 with 11:57 left in the game, but
the Anteaters responded with a 12-2 run to go up double-digits and they
cruised from that point forward.
UCI held on despite putting together a lackluster 10-of-17 showing from the
foul line.
