Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - Carrick Felix tallied a double-double with 23
points and 11 rebounds as the Arizona State Sun Devils ran past the Washington
State Cougars, 69-57, in a Pac-12 Conference bout at Wells Fargo Arena.
Felix shot 7-of-11 from the field and also swiped three steals for ASU (20-7,
9-5 Pac-12), which has registered back-to-back wins to notch its first 20-win
season since 2010. Jahii Carson added 21 points and five assists, while Jordan
Bachynski logged 12 points, seven rebounds and five blocks for the hosts.
For WSU (11-16, 2-12), Brock Motum scored 17 points, Royce Woolridge netted 16
points and DaVonte Lacy had 15 points. The other six players to take the
court combined to score only nine points for the Cougars, who extended their
season-long losing streak to seven games.
ASU shot an impressive 52 percent from the field in the first half and closed
the frame out on a 20-5 run to take a 36-22 advantage into intermission.
The Sun Devils' lead never dipped below eight points in the second half.
ASU won the rebounding battle, 37-26, which helped make up for a game-high 15
turnovers.
