Chattanooga, TN (Sports Network) - Nicholas Paulos scored a career-high 30
points while knocking down a school record 10 3-pointers for the UNC
Greensboro Spartans who handled the Chattanooga Mocs, 94-68, at McKenzie
Arena in a Southern Conference matchup.
Paulos took all of his shots from beyond the arc and was 10-of-12 for the
Spartans (8-18, 6-9 SoCon), who broke a three-game losing streak. Korey Van
Dussen added 11 points while Kelvin McNeil, David Williams, and Trevis Simpson
had 10 points each. McNeil also had eight rebounds while Drew Parker dished
out seven assists.
The Mocs (11-17, 6-9) were lead by Z. Mason who scored 21 points with eight
rebounds. Gee McGhee scored 13 points and Ronrico White added 12 as
Chattanooga took its second consecutive loss.
UNCG led 47-29 at the break after holding the Mocs to just 25.0 percent
shooting from the field in the first half.
In the second half the Spartans shot over 50.0 percent from the floor and
knocked down 9-of-15 shots from 3-point range to coast to the win.
The Spartans' bench was dynamic and supplied 57 points for UNCG while the
Mocs' bench managed just 17.
