Providence, RI (Sports Network) - Sean McGonagill recorded a game-high 24
points as the Brown Bears defeated the Princeton Tigers, 80-67, in an Ivy
League clash at the Pizzitola Center.
Stephen Albrecht added 17 points and five rebounds for the Bears (13-15, 7-7
IVY). Matt Sullivan chipped in 13 points and six assists. Tyler Ponticelli was
one-rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points for Brown which has won four
of its last five outings.
For the Tigers (16-11, 9-4), Ian Hummer scored a team-high 21 points. T.J.
Bray contributed 13 points, five boards, and four steals. Hans Brase added 11
points and six rebounds as Princeton lost for a second consecutive game.
In the first half, Princeton was held to 35.7 percent shooting from the floor
including 3-of-10 from beyond the arc. Brown knocked down 54.5 percent of its
field goal attempts including, 4-of-7 from long-range, en route to the 33-29
advantage at the break.
In the second half, Brown sank 27-of-46 free throw tries and shot 45 percent
from the floor to grab the win.
Brown controlled the boards, 43-29, and had 25 more free-throw attempts than
the Tigers.
