Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Matthew Dellavedova scored a season-high 32
points to lead the St. Mary's Gaels past the Drexel Dragons, 76-64, on
Thursday at the DIRECTV Classic.
Dellavedova shot 10-of-16 from the field and converted on 10-of-12 from the
free throw line. Brad Waldow added 15 points and seven rebounds, while James
Walker III scored 13 off the bench for St. Mary's (4-0), which will play
Pacific in the second round of the tournament on Friday.

Friday.
St. Mary's carried a 36-28 advantage into the second half, but Drexel began
the final 20 minutes on an 8-2 run to make it a two-point game.
However, they weren't able to keep it close for long. Following a three-point

down 3-pointers around a Matt Hodgson layup to put the Gaels ahead 55-46.
St. Mary's extended its advantage to 14 following a three-point play from
Dellavedova with 6:25 to go and held a double-digit edge the rest of the way.
